Mounting the Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun on the M13/40 chassis (later the M14/41) made the Semovente 75/18 a useful vehicle in tank versus tank action. The Semovente 75/18 proved itself against light British tanks in North Africa where it was still being used in early 1943.
