Sumida AMP Experimental Amphibious Half Track
The Sumida AMP was developed by the Japanese in 1929 as an experimental amphibious half track based on the French AMC Citroën-Kégresse P16. The prototype vehicle was completed in 1930 with a boat shaped hull on the chassis. The conical turret mounted a 6.5mm machine gun.
The Sumida AMP had two driving positions. In water the driver sat near the wheels and propeller and on land, the driver sat near the tracks. However, its cross country performance was disappointing and the design was dropped
