Renault UE(f) Converted Observation Vehicle
The Renault UE Chenillette was produced by the French between 1932 and 1940 and designed to tow and supply small guns and mortars.
Following the fall of France in 1940, around 3,000 were used by the Germans in a number of roles. As part of ther re-equipping of the 21st Panzer Division in France prior to D-Day, Baukommando Becker (named after Alfred Becker) modified 40 UE as the Kleiner Funk- und Beobachtungspanzer auf Infanterie-Schlepper UE(f) - a radio and artillery observation vehicle.
