Sd Kfz 181 Panzerkampfwagen VI (P)
The Porsche VK 45.01(P) prototype was completed in April 1942 mounting a concrete mock up turret with production expected to start in July 1942. The initial delivery of Tiger (P) had been scheduled to be sent to North Africa but a halt in production stopped this. The Tiger (P) was armed with the formidable 88mm KwK36 L/56 as well as two 7.92mm MG34 and weighed in at 57 tons. Only one Tiger (P) saw combat service as a heavy command tank with Panzerjaeger Abt 653 between April and July 1944.
