Pz Kpfw IV mit 7,5cm KwK L/70 mit Schmalturm
The Schmalturm was cheaper to produce, decreased the size of turret while still providing protection for the crew and was capable of mounting the 7,5cm KwK L/70 gun. On paper the L/70 and Schmalturm were matched with the Ausf J chassis but the vehicle never made it off the drawing board. In reality, the chassis struggled to cope with 80cm frontal armour and the weight of the smaller L/48 gun so its unlikely it would have coped with the 5 ton weight of the L/70 and Schmalturm.
