The Czech LT-38 was one of the most successful products of the pre-war Czech armaments industry. When the Germans took over in 1939 the Germans redesignated the vehicle Panzer 38(t). Mounting a Skoda 37mm A7 gun and a 7.92mm MG, the Panzer 38(t) was taken out of frontline service in 1942 by which time 1,168 had been produced. Ausf B initially served in France in 1940 and Greece in 1941 but were subsequently used on all fronts except North Africa.
