Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc

The Mk V was a Mk I Spitfire which was pressurised and fitted with the Merlin 45 engine allowing it to intercept at higher altitudes. The Mk Vc featured the Type C wing with two distinctive bulged farings to provide clearance for the ammunition feed motors for the two Hispano cannon. The Vc was also modified to carry one 250lb boimb under each wing. The Vc (trop) was further modified for use in the Mediterranean theatre, including North Africa and Malta, as well as in Burma and Australia.
