T52 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage

The T52 was designed in 1942 by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company to mount a 40mm Bofors anti aircraft gun, flanked by two 0.5cal machine guns in a traversing ball turret on top of an M4 chassis. The prototype was tested in 1943 with disappointing results. Ultimately the traverse was too slow and the turret was incapable of tracking fast, low flying aircraft. The project was cancelled in October 1944.
