The Sturmtiger was a much feared weapon designed to give heavy fire support to the infantry in urban fighting. The Sturmtiger was armed with 38cm SturmMorser RW61 L5.4 naval mortar which fired a short range rocket propelled mortar shell which could penetrate 2.5m of reinforced concrete. Sturmtigers served during the Warsaw uprising, in the Ardennes and in the defence of the Reich where they proved to be excellent defensive weapons which were hard to destroy.
