MAZ-543M Soviet Heavy Truck

The MAZ-543M is a Soviet/Belarusian 8x8 artillery truck designed and developed in the 1970s by MAZ (Minsk Automobile Plant). It was designed in the 1960s and is powered by a 38.9 litre diesel D12A-525 tank engine producing 525bhp. The MAZ-543M was designed to fulfil a number of duties carrying rocket and missile systems including carrying the BM-30 Smerch multiple rocket system but it also carries the Rubezh coastal defence missile and the Bereg self propelled artillery system.
