E-75 Flakpanzer with 12.8cm Flak 40

A superb example of the E-75 that was designed to be a standard heavy tank to replace the King Tiger and Jagdtiger but never quite entered service. The E-75 chassis was also intended to be used in an artillery role, as a tank destroyer and as an anti aircraft platform as shown here. Developed in 1936 by Rheinmetall-Borsig, the first prototype Flak 40 was tested in late 1937. Its weight was nearly 12 tonnes which made the gun difficult to transport.
