41M Turan II Medium Tank

The Hugarian 40M Turan I was based on the Czech Skoda T-21 prototype and was produced in two variants - the 40M (Turan I) was armed with a 40mm gun and the 41M (Turan II) was armed with a 75mm gun. Turan II was developed to mount a more powerful 75mm gun in a larger turret. This was designed to take on the larger Soviet tanks, such as the T-34. A total of 139 Turan II were built between 1943 and 1944 before the Soviets occupied Hungary.
