The 102/35 SA Model 1941 (Schneider Ansaldo) was originally designed as an anti aircraft cannon for cruisers. In 1941 in Fiat's Tripoli workshops, seven were mounted on the rear deck of Fiat 634N heavy trucks to provide an anti tank capability. During the last months of 1941 they participated with some success in a number of battles destroying at least 15 allied tanks at long range. They were also capable of firing in an anti aircraft capacity.
