The Latil TAR (Tracteur d'Artillerie Roulante) was a 4x4 heavy tractor designed in 1911 and used during WWI to tow heavy artillery pieces such as the 155mm guns. It was powewred by a 4 cylinder, 4200cc, 35hp petrol engine and had a load capacity of 4,000kg. Given its quality, the French continued to use them during the 1920s and 1930s and they remained in service with the French Army during the early years of WWII.
