Breda 40 Artillery Tractor

The Breda 40 Heavy Artillery Tractor entered service in 1940 and was intended to replace the earlier Breda TP32. It could tow a combined weight of 40 tons which was typically two heavy artillery pieces. The design featured large wheels and high gorund clearance to cope with sandy and mountainous terrain. Its diesel engine powered all four wheels. A recovery version, the Breda 41 was fitted with a crane jib and recovery equipment. The German Army also used a number of Breda 40 tractors.
