7.2" Howitzer

The British BL 7.2" Howitzer was Britain's main heavy artillery gun of WWII. Designed from the First World War 8" Howitzer, the carriage was modernised as a stop gap measure. However, the 7.2" performed so well during WWII that it remained in service with AGRA units as part of "Heavy" Regiments to provide support for the troops until the end of the war. The 7.2" Howitzer was crewed by 10 men. Typically the 7.2" Howitzer was towed by the Scammell Pioneer R100 Artillery Tractor.
