The ZIS-44 was an ambulance varaint based on the ZIS-5V truck. The ZIS-5 was the double axle version of the triple axle Soviet ZIS-6 truck. Production started in 1933 and along with the GAZ-AA was the workhorse truck for the Soviet Red Army in WWII with over 100,000 available in 1941.
