M48A2C Patton

The first M48's were completed in July 1952 as a response to the American's having no suitable medium tanks at the start of the Korean War. Armed with a 90mm gun and crewed by 4 men, the M48 served with distinction in Vietnam and India as well as in the Middle East for the Israelis. The M48A2C was the last M48 to be powered with a gasoline 12-cylinder engine coupled with an 8-cylinder auxilliary engine (known as "Little Joe"). This gave the M48A2C a short operational range.
