The M4A2 was the basic Sherman with a welded hull and a 75mm M3 gun. To provide additional firepower, Shermans were fitted with rocket launchers in frames above the turret. This kit depicts the T40M17 WhizBang rocket launcher which had 20 tubes each housing a 7.2" rocket. The T40 was unpopular with crews due to the rocket tubes being so close to turret hatches making entry and exit difficult for the crew especially in combat.
