Churchill Mk IV

The Churchill first appeared on the beaches of Dieppe in 1942 and despite going on to be a much used and much conveted vehicle, the Mk I suffered from some problems not least of which was it's weight and slow speed. The Mk III was improved version with the Mk I 2 pounder replaced by the British 6 pounder gun. The Mk IV was the same as the Mk III with a cheaper cast turret. Later in use as specialised armour within Hobart's Funnies, the Churchill tank was the main tank for the Royal Tank Regt.
