Pz Kpfw I Bruckenleger

The Pz Kpfw I was the first of the German panzers and was intended as a small tank for training purposes. In the event it was also extensively used in combat in the early part of WWII in the Polish, French, Norwegian, Balkan and African campaigns, being mainly employed in a reconnaissance role. The Bruckenleger was based on the Ausf A chassis however problems with the Ausf A's suspension meant it was not well suited for the bridging tank role. As a result only a few Pz Kpfw I were converted.
