149/40 Heavy Gun & Crew

The Cannone da 149/40 gun was designed top replace the earlier Cannone da 149/35 but low production numbers stopped this. Despite orders for 590 guns in 1940, only 51 were in service 26 figures by the end of September 1941. By 1943, in German service, the gun was designated 15cm K408(i). A further batch of 12 weapons were produced by Ansaldo for German use in 1944. It could be broken down into 2 parts or even 4 parts for easier transportation.
