Pz Kpfw II Ausf C

The second of the Panzers, the Pz Kpfw II was designed in the early 1930s. Like the Panzer I it was deliberately made simply and inexpensively as a training vehicle. However, it saw extensive service at the outbreak of WW2 during the Blitzkrieg as well as being a much converted chassis mainly for the production of self propelled guns up to 1944. Mainly used in a reconnaissance role, the other variants included the Wespe, Marder II and Lynx. The Ausf C was produced from 1938.
