T-26 With Cylindrical Turret & 76.2mm Gun (KT-28)

The T-26 light tank was the Soviet version of the Vickers 6-ton tank. Following the modification of the T-26 with a new turret and a 45mm gun, a need arose for an infantry support vehicle. Using the improved turret from the T-28 and T-35 tanks, the standard turret was fitted with a 76,2mm (3 inch) KT-28 gun. The tank was designated T-26A and was known as the "artillery tank". Its main role was to follow in the wake of the main armour and destroy fortified enemy positions.
