British 23rd Armoured Brigade

The 23rd Armoured Brigade was formed in 1939. It was attached to 8th Armoured Division. It moved to North Africa in 1942 joining the 8th Army and fighting at El Alamein. Elements of the 23rd participated in the Invasion of Sicily as well as the landings at Salerno in Italy and the subsequent batle of Anzio. Decal sheet includes 88 British 23rd Armoured Brigade signs of a black Liver Bird holding an olive branch on a white square indicating its Liverpool roots. Symbols measure approx 3mm high.
