NKL-26 Armoured Aerosan

The NKL-26 Aerosan ("Aerosled") was a propeller driven armoured snowmobile mounted on skis and used for reconnaissance, communication, medical duties, mail deliveries and emergency recovery in the northern USSR. The NKL-26 was used during both the Winter War and World War II. Built from plywood it had 10mm armoured plate on the front glacis and was armed with a 7.62mm DT machine gun in a ring mount. The NKL-26 was powered by an M-11G aircraft engine and had a crew of two.
