British Mk II 'Female' WWI Tank - Arras 1917

The Mk I Tank was the world's first combat tank and developed by the British. It derived its name from water tanks the codeword used during its secret development. The Mk II had some improvements over the Mk I but was assigned for training purposes only with 20 initially shipped to France and 25 held back in England. Despite this - due to delays in supply of Mk IVs - the remaining 25 where shipped to France in 1917 where they joined the other 20 Mk II and 15 Mk I for the Battle of Arras.
