6 Pounder Anti Tank Gun & Loyd Carrier with Crew

The 6 Pounder was supplied to Royal Artillery anti tank regiments of infantry and armoured divisions on the basis of 4 battaries of 12 guns. Later, as 6 Pounders were replaced by 17 Pounders in anti tank units, infantry divisions were allocated six gun anti tank platoons. The Loyd Carrier was based on the engine, gearbox and transmission of the 15cwt 4x2 Fordson 7v Truck with armour plate bolted onto the mild steel bodywork. The track and suspension was taken from the Universal Carrier.
