Bofors 40mm Anti Aircraft Gun & Crew

The 40mm Bofors was an anti aircraft gun produced by the Swedish Bofors firm and was used by most Western Allies. The prototype was tested during 1931 and was capable of 130 rounds per minute with final developments bringing the Bofors 40mm L/60 into service in 1933. It fired a 900g high explosive 40 x 311R (rimmed) shell at 2,800 feet per second. The Bofors 40mm saw service in both the Army as well as the Navy. It served in both the British and US forces as well their allies.
