Developed to counter the Allies command of the air, the Germans built a number of Flakpanzers based on the ever useful chassis of the Panzer IV. The Ostwind was first converted in July 1944 with a further 43 produced betwen December 1944 and March 1945. The Oswind mounted a 3.7cm Flak43/1 L/60 in an six sided open top turret mounted on top of a Pz Kpfw IV chassis allowing for 360 degree traverse.
