Beaverette Mk2 Armoured Car

The Beaverette or Standard Car 4x2 was a British Armoured Car built by the Standard Motor Company during during WWII. The first vehicle was built in 1940 at the request of Lord Beaverbrook (who ultimately gave his name to the car). The Beaverette was based on a standard commercial car chassis with a simple rivited hull of 11mm of steel backed by 3" oak planks. The hull was open at the top and rear with a firing slot for a Bren gun at the front. Some were also equiped with Boys Anti Tank rifles.
