Draisine

The Draisine was a light auxiliary rail vehicle used for maintenance of the rail infrastructure. During WWII, Russia added armour and armed them for use as light reconnaissance and scouting vehicles. Later, armament increased from T-26 turrets with 45mm guns to T-34 and, in this case, a 1941 Drasine with a KV-1 turret with the 76.2mm gun. This Draisine was powered by a V-2K diesel engine and entered service in 1942. These vehicles could be used alone or as part of larger armoured trains.
