Type 2 "Ka-Mi" Amphibious Tank

A superb and unusual kit of the Type 2 Ka-Mi, the Imperial Japanese Navy's first amphibious tank. The Type 2 Ka-Mi was based on the Japanese Army Type 95 Ha-Go light tank. The Type 2 was armed with a high velocity 37mm Type 1 gun and type 97 light machine gun in the turret with another type97 light machine gun in the hull. The US encountered Type 2 tanks in the Marshall Islands and Mariana Islands - particularly on Guam. Several Type 2 were destroyed by LVT-1s off the coast of Leyte.
