SAM-AT Platform (Special Anti Aircraft Machine Gun Mount for Armoured Train)

Developed in 1935 in the Soviet Union, the SAM-AT was based on the 20 ton railroad platform. An Octagon shaped turret was attached to the floor with 20mm thick armoured sides. In this was fitted a quad mounted 7.62mm Maxim machine gun. A total of 28 of these SAM-AT platforms were produced between 1936 and 1941 and were used on Russian Armoured Trains during WWII.
