18 Pounder MkI / Mk II PA

The Ordinance QF 18 Pounder was the standard British Field gun of WWI. It had a calibre of 84mm giving it a heavier shell weight than the French 75mm and the German 77mm. During WWI it was mainly horse drawn. Introduced in 1904, the 18 Pounder remained in service until 1942 and it's design was the basis of the more famous 25 Pounder which would subsequently replace it. In 1940 the BEF used 18 Pounders with 216 being lost before the evacuation at Dunkirk.
