Armoured Air Defence (PVO) Railroad Car

At the start of WWII Russian armoured trains suffered heavy losses as a result of German air attacks. Repsonding to this, twin Maxim 7.62mm machine guns were mounted on a tender and used from the start of 1941. The main manufacturer was the 'Steel Bridge' plant located near Moscow and the most common platform 1941-1942 mounted two 12.7mm DShK heavy machine guns on speciqal pods inside armoured boxes with hinged roof shields. The platform was manned by 6-10 men and armed with 1,000 rounds
