The Pz Beo Wg II was a radio communication version of the Pz Kpfw II Ausf C used as an mobile armoured artillery observation post. This had arisen from the shortage of artillery observation vehicles available later in the war. The Pz Kpfw II was modified by fitting an FuG-8 radio with frame antenna mounted over the engine compartment. Pz Beo Wg II were mainly used with Hummel and Wepse self propelled artillery batteries.
