Manufactured by Steyr-Daimler Puch and introduced in 1943, RSO chassis were converted to mount the single barrel 2cm Flak38. The basic wooden load platform of the RSO was used to mount the gun. The wooden panels could then be lowered to provide a platform for the gunners. As with many self propelled guns, protection for the crew was extremely limited.
