Kfz 17 Medium Radio Truck

The Kfz 17 was developed in 1934 as part of a program to develop a standardised military passenger vehicle with a standard chassis and interchangeable parts. There were to be three weight classes by different manufacturers. Horch, Wanderer and Opel would be responsible for producing the medium vehicle, Kfz 15. The variant with a closed body was designated Kfz 17 and used mainly as a medium radio vehicle, small telephone exchange vehicle, wireless maintenance truck or cable testing car.
